- Toilet paper is rarely found in public toilets in China, do not be afraid to carry your own
- Take a camera and have it on you at all times. China is full of natural and man made beauty, snap as many photos to remember the trip as you can!
- Carry a small bag with various medical supplies, just in case
- Bring a portable electronic device or small gaming system to keep you occupied on the sometimes long journey’s between cities and rural areas
- Invest in pollution masks or portable breathing ventilators to prevent becoming ill due to pollution
- Learn to haggle and be prepared to walk away
- Be mindful of your belongings at all times
